SmartBOD, 50 lbs
Description
- Get a healthy biomass in low food and low flow conditions
- Better than dog food, crude glycerin or molasses
SmartBOD is an advanced carbon source that provides the building blocks of biological life. It contains bioavailable sources of amino acids, complex proteins, carbohydrates, and micronutrients. Bacteria in biological wastewater processes use these to produce clean effluent, floc, and settling characteristics. SmartBOD will not raise phosphorous.
SmartBOD produces healthier biomass with lower dosage than carbon sources like glycerin, molasses, dog food or chicken feed. Bacteria on crude glycerin or molasses grow fast, but are ill-equipped to digest anything except sugar—leading to cloudy effluent and polysaccharide slime. Dog food and chicken feed add more fats and phosphorus than are beneficial to the bacterial populations. They also contain high levels of inert solids, which accumulate in a wastewater treatment system and can trap organic matter, resulting in low DO conditions.
- Dosage Schedule for Water Above 59°F (15°C)
– Plant Start Up/Severely Low F:M: 30 lbs per million gallons per day for 10 days.
– Low F:M/Toxicity: 30 lbs per million gallons per day - Dosage Schedule for Water Below 59°F (15°C)
– Plant Start Up/Severely Low F:M: 30 lbs per million gallons per day for 10 days.
– Low F:M/Toxicity: 15 lbs per million gallons per day
