Use this next-generation‚ magnetic stick-design locator to detect the magnetic field of ferromagnetic objects. Similar to the iconic GA-52Cx magnetic locator‚ SPOT® retains the "yellow stick" look‚ sturdy aluminum tube and simple one-handed operation‚ but adds in modern ergonomics‚ functionality and environmental performance.
SPOT determines signal strength based on the difference in the magnetic field between two sensors spaced approximately 20" apart. Select from five gain levels to adjust sensitivity for finding survey pins‚ markers‚ nails‚ water and gas valves‚ manhole covers and many other deep iron/steel objects. An audio tone helps you pinpoint your target and determine its orientation; the tone's pitch becomes higher as the detected signal strength increases. Audio output ranges from 30 Hz (while idling) up to 4000 Hz (over target). Battery life is 24 hours with intermittent use. Overall length is 42.3" (waterproof up to 27"). Weighs approximately 2 lbs.
