- Eliminates overhung load on hydrant nozzle
When you install a hydrant meter, backflow preventer or both as an assembly onto a hydrant nozzle, the stress on the nozzle can be considerable, especially if the device is subjected to an impact from the top or side. Our "S" shaped hydrant nozzle saver has a 30° offset configuration to provide vertical adjustment up to 15". Simply rotate the nozzle saver to lower the weight to the ground or intermediate support stand*. Made of 2-1/2" Sch 40 aluminum pipe with 2-1/2" NST brass couplings. Overall length is 54". Weighs 15 lbs. Ships FedEx.
*Remember that RPZ backflow preventers should be mounted at least 12" off of the ground.
