3M™ Attest™ Biological Indicators, 25/pack
Description
- On-site visual confirmation of sterilization within 48 hours
Confirm effective sterilization as dictated by Standard Methods with these biological indicators. Many states require labs to verify their sterilization processes with biological indicators—indicating tape only verifies sterilization temperature has been reached, but not maintained. Each indicator contains Geobacillus stearothermophilus, a spore strip and pH indicating media.
It's easy to confirm your sterilization process. To use, include one indicator with each sterilizer load and keep one indicator out as a control. A bar on the label changes from rose to brown when the indicator has been through a sterilization cycle.
After the sterilization cycle, crush the media ampule in each indicator and incubate at 56 ±2°C for 48 hours. If any spores survive, the indicator will change from purple to yellow, signaling a failure in your sterilization cycle. If the indicator remains purple after incubation, your sterilization was successful.
A compact (4.4"W x 2.3"H x 3.4"D) 24-position dry block incubator (stock # 92190) is sold separately. It requires a dry block with 10 mm Dia wells (stock # 92191).
